Artist Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in the Queens Museum! We will not be viewing unsolicited submissions until further notice. Our biennial, Queens International, features Queens-based artists and is conducted through open call. Unfortunately, the open call for submissions for Queens International 2012, opening in February, is now closed. Please check back regularly for updates and other artist opportunities, including those for our Partnership Gallery, listed below.

Seeking media work that relates to the concept of DystoRpia.

DystoRpia = { Dystopia &/or Utopia } + torpid
DystoRpia is a critical view of society with torpid visions that deal with people abusing technology, or by individuals or collectives who are able or not to properly deal with technology that has progressed far more rapidly than human spirituality. Presented work can be: Experimental Video, Video Art, Short Story, Installation or Performance.

Deadline for applications – June 21, 2012.

DystoRpia will be presented by Fluid New Media Lab in a collaboration with e-fagia, during the Fall of 2012 in New York at the Queens Museum of Art, Outpost Artists Resource, & Local Project Art Space.

Open Call Fluid New Media Lab Performance festival

We seek projects including, but not limited to, performance art, public actions and interventions, happenings, and acts taking place in both real and virtual places. The chosen pieces will be presented as part of our events and exhibitions scheduled for the Fall of 2012 and 2013.

Deadline for applications – June 21, 2012.

Selected performances will be presented by Fluid New Media Lab in a collaboration with e-fagia, during the Fall of 2012 in New York at the Queens Museum of Art, Outpost Artists Resource, Local Project Art Space, Thought the Outdoor Art Space, and M55 gallery.

Calling all Queens-based designers, artisans, jewelry makers, etc.

Do you envision your creations being sold in a museum shop? If you do and you live or work in Queens, we’re looking for you!

The Queens Museum of Art is on a quest to display and sell the best items made by the talented people of our borough.

To be considered for an opportunity to be featured in our shop, send us a little something about yourself, images of your goods, and, if you have one, a link to your website, blog or whatever form of virtual display you use.
