Special Preview Screening & Discussion of Art 21 Season 5, Episode 4 “Systems”

To date the PBS show Art 21 has featured

72 artists, demonstrating the breadth of artistic practice in the United States today. Each one-hour program is loosely organized around a theme helps audiences analyze, compare and juxtapose the artists profiled.

In advance of its broadcast on October 28, QMA will be screening the final episode “Systems” featuring John Baldessari, Kimsooja, Allan McCollum, and Julie Mehretu. After the screening, Queens Museum’s Director of Exhibitions, Hitomi Iwasaki will speak about featured artist Kimsooja’s work and give a preview of upcoming NYC exhibition which will include presentation of her work at the Queens Museum in December of 2009, along with several other emerging Korean artists.
