What’s Behind Your Smile?
Send us your answer in pictures.
Looking at the work of Yue Minjun, we invite you to participate in a group art project that answers the question. |
• Submit one picture that represents a real smile and a second picture that represents a fake smile. Pictures can be made (for instance, drawings, paintings or photographs) or taken from printed materials (for example, magazines, newspapers or family albums). Pictures may be of you or of others. Please send only two dimensional work, nothing larger than 8 ½ x 11.
• Let us know which word - “real” or “fake” - you would use to describe each of the pictures by writing it on the front of the picture.
• Mail or drop off your entries addressed to: What’s Behind Your Smile?, Queens Museum of Art, NYC Building, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, NY 11368-3398.
• Questions? Email: smile@queensmuseum.org.
Selected submissions will be included in an ongoing group art project at the museum during Yue Minjun and the Symbolic Smile, a special exhibition on view from October 14, 2007 through January 6, 2008. Due to the large amount of entries, work will not be returned. The first 10 school or community groups to submit 15 or more entries will receive a free guided tour of the exhibition for up to 25 people.
