Dara Greenwald – “Island of Healing and Restfulness”

Island of Healing and Restfulness as imagined by Dara Greenwald, One of fifteen islands fabricated by Greg Sholette based on ideas proposed by invited collaborators, Mixed media (paper, sand, plastic, wire, resin), 2012
Dear Greg,
My idea for an island is: Island of Healing and Restfulness – a healing place for workers or people without means to really rest – which has quality, organic, nutrient rich, unprocessed foods – calm recreation and cultural opportunities – ALL HEALING MODALITIES – both Western (top of the line treatments for all with no questions about insurance, etc) and non (including acupuncture, Ayurvedic, massage, meditation, etc) – a collective of people to help out with cleaning and cooking – so that the people of the city who can’t just buy all these things can have a place to recover from illness and accidents. Sounds like a great place, doesn’t it?
