Curatorial Internship


Responsibilities
Curatorial interns will assist the Curatorial Department staff in some of the following areas: exhibition related research and preparation, and administrative tasks, collection management, collection database, photo documentation of collection, exhibition photo archive, installation, deinstallation, and exhibition maintenance among other daily tasks.
The internship is open for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in studio art, art history, museum studies, and all other majors.

Qualifications
-Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills
-Self-starter and team player
-Responsible and reliable
-High level of attention to detail
-Interested in gaining museum work experiences and learning new skills

Computer literacy:
Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, basic HTML and FTP (note: if you are unfamiliar with some of the programs, we'll provide an on-site training)

Following skills are also desigred but not required:
-Foreign languages
-Interests and familiarity with the diverse local communities, activities, and cultures in Queens

Schedule
The internship is available year round, and the hours are flexible but minimum of two days per week commitment is desired. According to the number of interns available at one time, we will adjust the hours to meet the needs. The office hours are Mondays to Fridays, 9am - 5pm, which includes one hour lunch break.
