“Arc as in Architecture” examines the interconnectedness of movies and architecture as well as production design. Screenings of diverse films and clips illuminate how space, structure and story combine for cinematic greatness. Mark Ethan introduces each screening and leads discussions afterwards. Some of this season’s post-film discussions will take place in the museum’s Panorama of the City of New York, to compare the “reel” New York with the real New York skyline.
The Film Series is created by Mark Ethan, a member of the Actors Studio, who has appeared in films including “The Secret Lives of Dentists,” “The Confession” and “Lesser Prophets.” He has been presenting the Film Series at the Queens Museum of Art since 1998.
