On February 2, 2003, the Queens Museum of Art sponsored a Forest Hills Day in honor of the current exhibition featuring work by William Sharpe, a native of Forest Hills in Queens, New York. As part of the event, sixth grade students who had participated in Behind the Walls were recruited to become museum docents for the day. They worked in groups on various parts of the show, becoming "experts" on certain works of art as well as the artist himself. This opportunity to provide tours to the public allowed the students to experience what is involved in preparing an exhibition and presenting it to visitors at the Museum.
