OBJECTIVE
To learn how to mix paint colors to create new colors.

INTRODUCTION
Tiffany claimed that he was able to create any color that he needed in glass. He was able to do so by sandwiching sheets of glass with different colors together to form new colors. For example, a red piece of glass and a blue piece of glass could be melted together to form a purple piece of glass. This activity will enable students to learn which colors can be to mixed to form other colors.

PROCEDURE
Line the tables with newspaper and place a set of red, yellow, blue, white and black paint on each table. Allow one mixing tray for every 2 students to share, but have the students work independently. Ask the class to name some colors and write them down on the board. Now tell the students to try and mix 8 of the colors that are listed on the board and then paint them in any shape on some paper. Have them name the colors they created and make a list of colors that they used to create their colors.

ASSESSMENT
Were the students able to make a variety of colors from the primary colors and black and white paint? Are they able to articulate how to create the new colors? Were there any difficulties in mixing certain colors?
