Studio Art Classes
The Senior Workshop Series provides an art studio as well as supportive instruction for seniors who have had some experience making art as well as those who "can’t draw a straight line" but would love to try. Using a wide assortment of media, participants will explore drawing, paintings collage, and mixed media. Past workshops have included: Painted Paper Collage, The Art of Seeing, Glass Painting, and Mixed Media Construction.
Drawing into Painting, Part II:
Enhancing Creativity
and Artistic Confidence
A continuation of this past fall’s Drawing into Painting program, this class will further explore the basics of drawing—line, value, and composition—before moving on painting on canvas, using acrylic paints and mixed media. Participants need not to have attended any previous course (our or otherwise), as everyone will develop at their own level.
Studio Art Classes are presented by Lorraine Klagsbrun, former Assistant Director of Education and Coordinator of Senior Services at the Queens Museum of Art. She is also a practicing artist whose work is shown in New York City and Massachusetts.
Wednesdays, March 26 through April 23; Studio A, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.; free; pre-registration required at 718-592-9700, ext. 133.
