ArtAccess presents a fitness class for families affected by Autism hosted at the Jamaica Central Library Discovery Center, select Saturdays.

Come and experience the traditional Indian dance Bhangra and the exhilaration of Bollywood! The name, The Masala Bhangra Workout, is derived from two Indian words: Masala, which is a spice combination used in Indian cooking, and Bhangra, which is a traditional folk dance from the northern state of Punjab, India. In three sessions, students will learn distinct moves from the program and create a choreographed sequence.

Roshani Thakore is a visual artist with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts. She has been studying with The Masala Bhangra workout® for three years and became certified to teach in Spring 2011. She currently teaches at the YMCA in Long Island City.

This class will be enhanced with visual supports and the addition of an ArtAccess Educator to help engage children with autism.
