Please join us for the book launch of The Way of the Cross, written by Gabriele Tinti & Shaun C. Leonardo with a very special reading from actor and writer Michael Imperioli. Published by Allemandi.
This book is an act of love in the form of prose or an epic song, which the author wrote and dedicated to one of the most captivating, absorbing and legendary boxers of the last thirty years: Arturo Gatti. The event will also feature a reading by Michael Imperioli – Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning Italian-American actor and director – and a book signing with the authors. Vinny Maddalone, a heavyweight contender and Queens-based fighter will be making a special guest appearance.
Gabriele Tinti is an Italian art critic and writer.
Shaun El. C. Leonardo currently lives and works in Queens, New York City. His work has been exhibited widely in institutions including El Museo del Barrio and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He was recently featured in Greater New York – 5 Year Review at MOMA PS1 in New York.
Michael Imperioli is an American actor and television writer. He is perhaps best known for his role as Christopher Moltisanti on The Sopranos for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2004. In addition to his role on The Sopranos, Imperioli has appeared in a number of films, including Goodfellas, Jungle Fever, Bad Boys, The Basketball Diaries, Clockers, Dead Presidents, Lean on Me, I Shot Andy Warhol, Last Man Standing, Shark Tale, High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story, and Summer of Sam, which he also co-wrote and co-produced. In addition, he has written a number of episodes for The Sopranos. He also appeared as Detective Ed Green’s temporary replacement, Detective Nick Falco, in the TV drama series Law & Order. Imperioli spent the 2008-2009 television season as Detective Ray Carling in the US version of Life on Mars, as well as starred as Detective Louis Fitch in the ABC police drama Detroit 1-8-7.
